The course is a 50 mile circular route starting and finishing in Keswick and tackling many of the highest peaks in the Lake District. The route is fully flagged and a GPS track is available. Completion of this course will earn you 3 UTMB points and a step closer to gaining entry for this elite event!
The route will take you over dramatic rocky crags, across open moorland and through low lying bogs following an anti- clockwise loop bagging the peaks in the following order:
Leg 1 – Keswick to Honister – 13km (of which 5km is on tarmac) with 800m of ascent
1 – Cat Bells – 451m
2 – High Spy – 653m
Leg 2 – Honister to Wasdale – 15km with 1500m of ascent
3 – Haystacks – 597m
4 – Pillar – 892m
Leg 3 - Wasdale to Thirlmere – 22km with 1500m of ascent
5 – Scafell Pike – 977m
6 – Great End – 910m
7 – Harrison Stickle – 736m
8 – High Raise – 762m
Leg 4 – Thirlmere to Threlkeld – 18km with 1200m of ascent
9 – Helvellyn – 950m
10 – Clough Head – 726m
Leg 5 – Threlkeld to Keswick – 12km with 850m of ascent
11 – Blencathra – 868m
Participants will need to navigate their own way from peak to peak on foot and feel confident doing so night or day.
